Dear Colleagues, Please note the following slight change, which may affect some of the scripts using RIPE db: When doing a referred query, the users used to get a response starting with: The object shown below is NOT in the RIPE database. It has been obtained by querying a remote server: (host_name) at port port_no. To see the object stored in the RIPE database use the -R flag in your query. Since this text may be interpreted by some scripts as an object in the db, we have changed it to contain leading '%' characters: % The object shown below is NOT in the RIPE database. % It has been obtained by querying a remote server: % (whois.denic.de) at port 43. % To see the object stored in the RIPE database % use the -R flag in your query. % %%% Start of referred query result We have also added the last line, "%%% Start of referred query result", to clearly indicate where the referred result starts. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact <ripe-dbm at ripe.net>. Regards, Engin Gunduz RIPE NCC Database Group
