My name is Tomasz Mikolajek. I am working in Koszalin University of Technologi. We have two mntner's: PL-POL-MNT and KOSMAN-MNT and we forget a password to KOSMAN-MNT. How can we reset password? What we have to do? Please, help us. Should it be the country of location of the person/company to which PA was assigned or the country of location of the server and it's datacentre to which it was assigned? Seems, in former case geoip databases will determine the country incorrectly, won't they? But the location of the owner will be seen in both cases in the address field. Is there any RIPE policy regarding that? However, there is a huge demand for IP-based geo-location, and no other real sources of information, so people do it. So, the best approach is probably to document what you think the most likely location of the users of the IP addresses will be. This is likely to become increasingly difficult due to iPhones and the like, but it is the only tool we have until people start implementing protocols that allow end users to pass this information on. > Is there any RIPE policy regarding that? One thing you can go with AS2 is to create a special MNTNER, which you give MNT-ROUTES to on the inetnum object. That mntner has a password that you give to the AS mntner, and you keep the mnt-by of it as your normal mntner. That way they can create the route with both your shared password and their AS mntner login; but you are the owner and have full control over all the objects. Of course it is dependent on how much trust there is :) -- Jamie Stallwood Security Specialist Imerja Ltd M: 07795 840385 jamie.stallwood at imerja.com -----Original Message----- From: db-help-admin at ripe.net [mailto:db-help-admin at ripe.net] On Behalf Of SerNet Support Lutz Pre?ler Sent: 30 January 2009 11:51 To: db-help at ripe.net Subject: multiple route objects and authorisation Hello!
