The meeting was attended by 30 RIPE community members and aimed to advance the work of the IoT BoF ahead of RIPE 75 - to see what RIPE and the RIPE NCC can do to address IoT issues. A report of this meeting is now available via our website https://www.ripe.net/participate/meetings/roundtable/september-2017/ripe-iot-roundtable-meeting-21-september-2017/meeting-report There is also a dedicated mailing list for RIPE community members with an interest in the IoT: iot-discussion at ripe.net. Building on the model of Roundtable Meetings for Governments and Regulators that we have been employing successfully in Europe and, more recently, the CIS region, this was the first such Roundtable Meeting to be held in the Middle East, with attendees from Ministries and Regulators in the Arab countries in our service region. Focus points in the discussion included IPv6 deployment, Internet growth trends in the region and participation in the RIPE Policy Development Process. A fuller description and links to all of the presentation slides is available here: https://www.ripe.net/publications/news/announcements/ripe-ncc-holds-roundtable-meeting-in-bahrain Best regards, Chris Buckridge External Relations Manager RIPE NCC From ripencc-management at ripe.net Mon Oct 23 13:30:29 2017 From: ripencc-management at ripe.net (Paul Rendek) Date: Mon, 23 Oct 2017 15:30:29 +0400 Subject: [cooperation-wg] RIPE NCC Signs MoUs with Telecommunications Regulatory Authority of UAE and American University of Beirut Message-ID: <95388f2a653ad39a8dcfad16348caa13@ripe.net> Dear colleagues, The RIPE NCC signed two new Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) yesterday during RIPE 75 in Dubai: one with the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) of the United Arab Emirates, and another with the American University of Beirut (AUB). The MoUs formalise the existing relationships the RIPE NCC has with each of these organisations, which come from our increased involvement in the region. The two agreements are very similar in nature, and focus on organising and promoting training courses, meetings, academic initiatives and IPv6 roadshows. The RIPE NCC also agreed to provide the TRA with technical expertise, and agreed to work with the AUB on promoting RIPE Atlas in the Levant region. You can find a news announcement about the MoU with the TRA here: https://www.ripe.net/publications/news/announcements/ripe-ncc-and-tra-sign-memorandum-of-understanding And a news announcement about the MoU with the AUB here: https://www.ripe.net/publications/news/announcements/ripe-ncc-and-aub-sign-memorandum-of-understanding You can also find the full text of the MoUs, along with the other agreements we have with external organisations, on our website: https://www.ripe.net/about-us/what-we-do/engagement-external-organisations Please let us know if you have any questions or comments.
