From steve.nash at theiet.org Tue Nov 6 11:30:13 2012 From: steve.nash at theiet.org (Steve Nash) Date: Tue, 6 Nov 2012 10:30:13 -0000 Subject: [cooperation-wg] Euro-IX EC Position Statement on the Review of the ITRs In-Reply-To: References: Message-ID: <00db01cdbc09$b5a3c970$20eb5c50$@theiet.org> I endorse the statement. However I believe that the Internet community must show itself to be more pro-active in acknowledging the right of Governments to govern. It would have been useful, for example, to direct readers of this statement to the activities of the Internet Governance Forums, the RIRs, NOGs etc. The Internet is not Uncontrolled. But it is not something that fits the remit of ITU. The Internet makes use of Telecommunication networks, but it is not Telecommunication itself.
