Granted that a mere "whois -h whois.nic.de gaertner.de" will tell you
little.  Get the whole scoop including contact information with

	whois -h whois.nic.de ' -T dn gaertner.de'

[The funny quoting for the initial blank is used to pass the RIPE whois
style options to the server.]  Yes, I don't like the diversifications
of the various whois servers either.  At least one doesn't have to
jump through CAPTCHAs with .de queries.
