Time to make the vendor of this poor excuse for an e-mail client wake up,
and implement e-mail signing and encryption.  Vote with your money.

(For people that want to have a point-and-click MUA, I can only recommend
thunderbird.  Cross-platform availability, intelligent approach to 
HTML mail, very good crypto support via Enigmail plugin)
