Nick I may get back to your other points later but I hasten to
say now that my comments are completely merited. I have MANY times
drawn the attention of RIR staffs to non-functional REQUIRED
addresses and have been regularly blown off with "not my job".
Nothing FORBIDS their sending a polite note to the miscreants with
the "mailbox full" bounces for the postmaster address. They
just refuse to do it. That's what I would call unprofessional.
(LACNIC never even bothers to reply; I will say that Yvette and
Gerard are very polite and faithful correspondents; they just
politely justify supine acceptance of abuse by their colleagues.)
I choose my words carefully and never say more than I mean and
can document. If anyone can correct me on genuine errors I will
enthusiastically accept the correction. But I am not wrong on
this and will be happy to forward my correspondence in evidence
to anyone who doubts I have it.
