You can see some historical information about PI assignments (and other 
information) in slides 5, 6 and 7 of the RIPE NCC Numbers Update I 
presented last week:

We also have numbers showing the numbers of PI assignments per prefix 
length last year. These numbers include a few assignments made to trade 
fairs, conferences and so on.
