Participation Overview

This page gives simple instructions on how to participate in the RIPE NCC General Meeting May 2013.

Attending the GM

To attend the GM, fill out the registration form. You can then collect your meeting materials and voting ballots at the GM Registration Desk at the Burlington Hotel in Dublin on 15 May.

Electronic Voting

Complete the two-step process:

Step 1: Click the link in the email you receive inviting you to register to vote electronically. You will be asked to select the RegIDs you are a voting contact for and submit the form.

Step 2: Submit a copy of your passport or identity card to the RIPE NCC by:

Note: If you submitted a copy of your identification for a previous GM, you just need to email and let us know. This will complete your registration process.

If you complete both steps, you will receive an email with a link to the voting pages before the GM.

Nominating and Supporting Executive Board Candidates

To nominate a candidate for the RIPE NCC Executive Board, email with the following details:

  • Your full name
  • Your organisation
  • Your RegID
  • The candidate's name
  • Reason for nomination (optional)

Candidate's need five nominations/supports from RIPE NCC members to be confirmed candidates. To support a candidate, email with the following details:

  • Your full name
  • Your organisation
  • Your RegID
  • The candidate's name
  • Reason for support (optional)

Proxy Voting

To nominate a proxy voter, simply fill out the proxy form and send it to the RIPE NCC by:

Both the voting member and the nominated proxy will need to sign the form.

Attending Remotely

Before the GM, all RIPE NCC members will be sent an email with instructions on how to follow the GM webcast and participate in the online chat facility.

  • 7 Feb 2013 - Open GM registration
  • 7 Feb 2013 - Call for nominations to Executive Board
  • Feb 2013 - Open electronic voting registration
  • 17 Apr 2013 - Publish all GM documents, including RIPE NCC Annual Report and Financial Report 2012
  • 24 Apr 2013 - Close nominations for Executive Board elections*
  • 1 May 2013 - Deadline for proxy vote nominations
  • 1 May 2013 - Deadline for members to propose resolutions
  • 1 May 2013 - Deadline to publish final GM Agenda
  • 14 May 2013 - Close registration for electronic voting
  • 15 May 2013 - RIPE NCC General Meeting May 2013 begins with main meeting
  • 16 May 2013 - RIPE NCC General Meeting May 2013 ends with vote announcement

* If there are fewer than three nominated candidates by 24 April 2013, the RIPE NCC Executive Board will nominate additional candidates to ensure there is a minimum of three.
