Implementation Plan for 2014-05, "Policy for Inter-RIR Transfers of Internet Resources"

This implementation plan outlines how the RIPE NCC will establish a framework to enable inter-RIR transfers of Internet number resources, as described by the RIPE Policy proposal 2014-05.

Enabling inter-RIR transfers requires updates to our software, processes and procedures. It also requires coordination with the other RIRs that have inter-RIR transfer policies in place (currently APNIC and ARIN). Procedural documentation, templates and due diligence checks will need to be drafted and agreed upon. Some of these documents may need to be approved by the RIPE NCC Executive Board. We expect this work to be completed around September 2015.

The RIPE NCC is also currently implementing the policy proposals 2014-12 and 2014-13, which allow IPv6 and ASN transfers. This work will be incorporated into the 2014-05 implementation, which will allow inter-RIR transfers of these resources, if and when other RIRs have enabled them as well.
