Senior Software Engineer

From our new office next to Amsterdam Central Station, our not-for-profit organisation works for the good of the Internet, providing a range of services that include:

  • IP address registration
  • DNS and routing security services
  • Internet traffic measurements

Our contact database gets over 25 million queries per day. We take pride in open source, technical excellence and Agile software development.

Our Software Engineering Department’s three development teams are expanding. We are looking for experienced developers who love their craft and are eager to use new technologies, share knowledge and learn from their colleagues.

What you really need to have:

  • A degree in Computer Science (or equivalent) or relevant work experience
  • Five or more years of experience in Java
  • Capacity to work on the full stack including Java, SQL, Spring, REST and front-end
  • Experience supporting operational services
  • Good coaching and mentoring skills
  • Clean coding skills
  • Experience with Unit testing and Continuous Integration
  • Good communication and team playing skills
  • Fluency in English

It would be cool if you have:

  • Experience with AngularJS and affinity with front-end development
  • Experience with Java 8 functional programming
  • Experience with Linux
  • Agile experience

You’ll also make us really happy if you’re comfortable with Linux and are living in one of the countries in our service region.

Salary:

The starting salary for this position is between EUR 58,000 and EUR 65,000 (before tax), depending on experience and skillset. This includes the standard 8% annual “holiday pay” and a 5% end-of-year bonus.

This position could qualify you for the 30% tax benefit applicable to some skilled migrant workers in the Netherlands.
