  • Write blog posts and RIPE Labs articles, collaborate with academic researchers or industry partners, participate and present results at industry and academic events
  • Propose and build prototype tools and services to collect and process more relevant measurement data, or to gain insight into existing data, as well as tools to analyse and present results to RIPE NCC members and the community at large
  • Advise and help the development teams in order to improve time-to-insight, usability or value proposition of our services

What we expect from you:

  • Thorough understanding of core networking protocols such as TCP/IP, BGP and DNS
  • Knowledge about ISP operations, tools and issues
  • Experience in Internet measurements, data processing, analysis and data presentation/visualisation
  • Programming experience using Python; knowledge of other languages is a plus

It would be nice if you have:

  • Exposure to academic publications regarding Internet measurements
  • Experience in big data handling (Google BigQuery, Apache Spark or similar)
  • Application programming experience using UNIX/Linux server architectures
  • Experience with RIPE NCC tools such as RIPE Atlas and RIPEstat is a plus

What we offer you:

  • An annual salary depending on your experience. The salary ranges from EUR 43,800 to EUR 72,000 for a full-time week (37.5 hours)
  • Excellent secondary benefits including a non-contributory pension scheme, paid parental leave, top-tier health insurance coverage for you and your family and 30 vacation days plus 3 collective days
  • A generous training allowance for professional development
  • An opportunity to expand your technical knowledge and grow in your career
