Instructional Designer

Amsterdam Central Station

30 to 37.5 hours per week

As an Instructional Designer you are responsible for developing innovative and engaging e-learning solutions. You will work in the Learning and Development team together with experienced technical trainers and learning experts. Because of your didactic background you know how to develop interactive online modules. The RIPE NCC is embarking on exciting e-learning projects, so you will have the opportunity to help shape the future of our e-learning offerings.  

In this role, you will:

  • Develop interactive online learning content that you will publish on our online learning platform
  • Translate technical content into visual learning content
  • Work closely with the technical trainers, learning and content experts to convert the face to face content into modular online solutions
  • Advise and train subject matter experts in content creation
  • Support in the development of our new certification programme
  • Travel abroad at least 4 times per year, to attend conferences and training courses

What we expect from you:

  • At least a Bachelor’s degree in Educational Sciences, Pedagogy, Instructional Design or equivalent
  • Minimum of two years in creating learning content (adult learning techniques) and interactive curriculum design.
  • Experience in Learning Management Systems and in content authoring tools (knowledge of Moodle, Articulate Storyline and Rise are a bonus)
  • Solid understanding of Instructional Design principles: ADDIE Model, Bloom's Taxonomy and other industry-recognised methods
  • Excellent didactic and conceptual thinking skills
  • Strong written and spoken English
  • A real team player, creative and innovative thinker, initiative and proactive working attitude, strong communicator

 It would be nice if you could also have:

  • Graphic design skills
  • Experience with training delivery
  • Knowledge of the Internet industry
  • Basic technical (networking) knowledge
  • Experience with soft skills training and mentoring

    Our international Learning and Development team of 12 colleagues is responsible for one of our key services: providing training, knowledge and expertise to our members and the wider Internet community. We have our fingers on the pulse of the latest industry developments so we can evolve and adapt at the same pace as the rapidly changing tech landscape.     The RIPE NCC is a not-for-profit organisation founded on the belief that the Internet should be governed openly, transparently and together with the wider Internet community. We are one of the oldest Internet organisations in Europe and are proud of our legacy.
