Technical Trainer

  • Full-time role (37.5 hours per week)
  • Amsterdam (next to Central Station)

Join our Training Services Department (of 11 other colleagues) at the RIPE NCC: we're looking for an inspiring new colleague to develop and deliver technical training courses and contribute to outreach and capacity-building activities.

Here's what you'll be involved in:

  • Deliver training courses, webinars and presentations on topics such as IPv6, BGP and the RIPE Database in a variety of locations in our service region
  • Develop and improve training course material
  • Contribute to our portfolio of online learning resources (such as the RIPE NCC Academy)
  • Represent the RIPE NCC at various industry events and conferences, sometimes as an attendee, sometimes as a speaker

As a Technical Trainer, you must have:

  • Minimum two-years' experience delivering technical training courses
  • Hands-on networking experience or solid knowledge of routing, BGP, Internet protocols, etc.
  • Minimum of one-year experience in course design and material development
  • Strong training, presenting, communication and mentoring skills
  • The ability and flexibility to travel internationally on a regular basis (about 25%)
  • Excellent command of English, both written and verbal

 One of these would be nice:

  • Experience developing online learning resources
  • Working knowledge of the Linux/Unix operating system
  • Recent CCNA/JNCIA or other recognised technical qualifications
  • Work experience in an ISP or IXP
  • Participation in RIPE community and/or other technical Internet communities


The annual salary for this position is between EUR 42,600 and EUR 61,300 (before tax), depending on experience. This includes the standard 8% annual “holiday pay” and a 5% end-of-year bonus.
