Tayfun Özaltın

Tayfun Özaltın is a technical trainer and subject matter expert at the RIPE NCC's Learning and Development team. Since joining in early 2022, he has been responsible for delivering training courses across the RIPE NCC service region, which includes Europe, the Middle East, and part of Central Asia. Tayfun's expertise covers various topics, such as IPv6, BGP, Routing Security and RIPE Database. Additionally, he contributes to the development of training materials and professional certification exams within the team.

With over 17 years of experience in the telecommunications industry,
Tayfun has specialised in telco networks, particularly in broadband
network design and planning, as well as IP/MPLS technologies. Before his
role at the RIPE NCC, he worked as a fixed broadband network planning and
design engineer, where he managed broadband network gateway equipment at
Turkcell, a leading mobile and fixed Internet service provider in Turkey.
He also handled network projects during his time there. Prior to his
work at the RIPE NCC and Turkcell, Tayfun spent more than seven years at
Alcatel-Lucent (now known as Nokia). His responsibilities included
serving as an IP TAC Engineer and IP/MPLS design engineer.
