Hello RIPE NCC members,

We want to start by expressing our solidarity with the network operators who are currently working hard to maintain Internet access despite the effects of war. As a Regional Internet Registry, our focus is on keeping our members operational and continuing to provide undisrupted services to them. 1. Registry 
-- LIR Stats
Number of LIRs: 23,562 (+192)
Number of members: 20,201 (+94)
LIRs with IPv6: 16,770 (+48)
IPv4 addresses transferred in February: 823,296 (+647,968)

-- Ticketing in the LIR Portal
The Registry team has made improvements to the ticketing system in the LIR Portal. The changes are intended to make it easier for users to keep track of their tickets. We would like to hear your feedback on these improvements. You can leave a comment on the Labs article listed below or in the RIPE NCC Membership Discussion or RIPE NCC Services Working Group mailing lists. -- Customer Satisfaction Surveys
For some of our services, we have begun sending out surveys after tickets have been closed in order to assess members’ satisfaction with their experiences. We welcome your feedback so that we can continue to improve our ticket handling process.


2. Information Services
-- RIPE Labs Reporting on Ukrainian Internet
Our Information Services team has been carefully monitoring the internet in Ukraine for signs of disruption or other changes during this crisis. Overall, the Ukrainian Internet has shown to be fairly resilient. To read the full analysis, see the RIPE Labs articles at:

We have added a chat functionality to a number of our webpages, including our home page. Simply click the chat icon in the bottom right of the page, and you can start a chat with one of our staff members.

-- RIPE 84 Registration Open
We have now determined that RIPE 84 will be a hybrid meeting. There will be a physical meeting in Berlin, Germany, and we will also welcome remote participants. Registration is now open for the event. For more information, including the venue, visit:

-- Call for Nominations to the RIPE NCC Executive Board
We have issued a call for nominations for the RIPE NCC Executive Board. Two seats are up for election. Nominations must be submitted by 27 April. The vote will take place at the General Meeting on 18-20 May. If you want to vote electronically, you must register to vote by 18 May at 14:30 (UTC+1) You may also vote by proxy, for which you must send in the proxy form by 4 May. -- SEE 10 Registration Open

-- Roundtable Meeting For Governments and Regulators in Europe
On 22 February, the RIPE NCC held a Roundtable Meeting for government representatives and regulators in Europe. The meeting featured presentations on operational challenges from legislation, upcoming ITU events and global Internet governance. You can find the meeting agenda and presentation slides at:

-- DNS4EU RIPE NCC Open House Discussion Notes
On 31 January, the RIPE NCC held an Open House community discussion on DNS4EU, the European Commission's recent tender process to establish a European public DNS resolver. If you missed the session, you can read more about this initiative and find a rundown of the discussion at:

-- Status of ENOG
There have been calls from the community to disband ENOG and to cancel the planned ENOG event that was scheduled for June 20-21 in Moscow. In response, our CCO Hisham Ibrahim has addressed the future of ENOG on the ENOG Discuss mailing list. The RIPE NCC will be postponing the planned ENOG meeting indefinitely and will give the community time to decide whether ENOG meetings will continue in some form. In the meantime, the RIPE NCC will focus on organising more local engagement throughout the Eurasian region. You can find Hisham’s full message at:

-- The RIPE Chair Team Reports: February 2022
The RIPE Chair Team has shared its report on events in the community in February, including preparations for RIPE 84, improving RIPE visibility and documenting the community’s governance, as well as several recent events such as UKNOF Virtual. Read the report at:

-- RIPE Community Session on Revised PDP Minutes
The minutes are available from the RIPE community session on 26 January to discuss the proposed changes to the PDP. The community had the opportunity in this session to share their feedback on the revised document. Based on this input, the PDP draft document was revised further. 4. Organisational Update
-- RIPE NCC Executive Board Resolution on Provision of Critical Services
The RIPE NCC Executive Board has passed a resolution on the RIPE NCC’s commitment to providing its critical services to members across its service region. The RIPE NCC will take all lawful steps to continue providing undisrupted service to all members. Read the full resolution at:

-- RIPE NCC Response to Request from Ukrainian Government
The RIPE NCC has responded to the Ukrainian government’s request that we revoke IP address resources from our Russian members. We have informed the Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine that we are unable to comply with this request due to our mandate as a Regional Internet Registry and our commitment to providing undisrupted service. -- Invoices for Ukrainian and Russian Members
We have contacted Ukrainian members to reassure them that they do not risk losing their membership or resources if they are unable to pay or meet certain administrative requirements. We have also informed Russian members that they do not risk closure if sanctions-related factors mean they are unable to make payment.

With regard to EU sanctions, we are constantly reviewing the sanctions list and applying our sanctions procedure when we find any new matches, that is, we do not make new Internet number resources available to any sanctioned persons or entities, and we freeze any resources they already have. Statistics will be reported in our quarterly sanctions transparency reports.
