Internet Governance
The RIPE NCC engages in a range of activities that can be defined as “Internet governance”. These activities include working with the technical community, governments, regulators, civil society and law enforcement agencies. The United Nations Working Group on Internet Governance (WGIG) defines Internet governance as follows:
Internet governance is the development and application by governments, the private sector and civil society, in their respective roles, of shared principles, norms, rules, decision-making procedures, and programmes that shape the evolution and use of the Internet.
Internet technical community coordination
The RIPE NCC coordinates with a range of technical bodies and organisations, including the other Regional Internet Registries (RIR) and organisations such as ICANN.
Multistakeholder engagement
The RIPE NCC engages with individual governments, regulators and law enforcement agencies (LEAs), as well as participating in various international and intergovernmental organisations.
