RIPE 50 - Information for Newcomers
RIPE Meetings provide an opportunity for the RIPE community to come together
face-to-face and exchange information.
Newcomers Introduction Talk
For those who were new to a RIPE Meeting, there was the Newcomers’
Introduction Talk on Monday at 1.15pm in Room C58. The Chair
of RIPE and a RIPE NCC staff member presented an overview of RIPE and
the RIPE NCC, and explained how the RIPE Meetings are structured.

“Meet & Greet” Desk
The RIPE NCC “Meet & Greet” program is there to
help new attendees have a successful and productive RIPE Meeting
and is a contact point to the RIPE NCC.
Representatives from the RIPE NCC were there to answer any questions
you may have had. The Meet & Greet Desk opened on Monday and
was next to the Registration Desk.
On-site Meeting Information
The RIPE On-Site Information Exchange (ROSIE), is an on-site meeting
website. You can access it after you are connected at the meeting
venue. ROSIE provides important information to RIPE Meeting
attendees including:
· network information
· network statistics
· downloadable tools
· RIPE Documents and RFCs (Requests for Comments)
· last-minute announcements

Important Information for New Local Internet Registries
To help bring new Local Internet Registries together with existing
members and the RIPE community, the RIPE NCC will give each new
LIR two free tickets to attend the RIPE Meetings.
