RIPE 45 Meeting

Venue: Hotel Fira Palace in Barcelona, Spain

The Fira Palace is located opposite the Congress Hall fairgrounds and next to the well-known "Gran Via Avenue" and "Plaza España". The hotel is centrally located and is only 8 kilometres from "El Prat International Airport". The Fira Palace has 276 rooms, which are modern and comfortable and include the up-to-date amenities.

All rooms include air-conditioning and full marble bathrooms that are sure to please. The hotel features two restaurants and a bar/lounge to meet the needs of its guests. The hotel is a close to fine dining, shopping and entertainment.

How to reach the hotel?

Taxis

Barcelona has 11,000 taxis, which are easily identifiable by their yellow and black design. It takes between 15 - 20 minutes to reach the hotel from the airport and it costs approximately EUR 16-18.

Aerobus

This special service is clearly identifiable, as you will see its name written on the outside of the vehicle. Signposts indicating the platforms are situated outside the airport terminal. The aerobus will take you to the city, stopping at different points. Your stop is "PLAZA ESPAÑA", 5 minutes walking from the FIRA PALACE.
2002 Tariffs: EUR 3.30 one-way. Tickets are available on board (VISA credit cards are accepted).

Train

The train service to the Barcelona "Sants" train station is siuated on the west side of the airport termional.

2002 Tariffs: Monday to Sunday: EUR 2.15 one-way. Departing every 30 minutes.

From the Barcelona "Sants" train station you can either take the subway (2 stops) to "España Square" and walk to the hotel (aprox. 5 minutes) or take a taxi.

Car

From the airport take Freeway C-26 ("Autovía Castelldefels") until you reach "Plaza España" (Square). Turn left on "Rius i Taulet Avenue" until you get to "Lerida Street". The hotel is on the right corner.

Public transportation

Public transport is available rom "Plaza España" (square), which is 5 minutes walking from the hotel and situated in an area which has excellent connections to subway, buses and taxis.
