Dear Colleagues,
The RIPE NCC will be conducting technical webcasting trials (audio and
video) of certain sessions during RIPE 44 that are scheduled in the Grand
Ballroom of the Krasnapolsky Hotel.
Presently, this includes the EOF, Routing WG, LIR WG, IPv6 WG, EIX WG, DB
WG and the Plenary session.
These webcastings are a technical trials only and the broadcasts should not
be regarded as an official implementation of a webcasting service.
At the moment the trials are unicast from two end servers only:
- - Within the RIPE Meeting network: webcast.ripemtg.ripe.net
- - Outside the RIPE Meeting: webcast.ripe.net
Attendees wishing to view the trials will need to have Real Player installed.
To make this a successful test, we ask that participants at the sessions
use microphones at all times and, when approaching a microphone to make a
statement, to state their names clearly.
We also ask the RIPE Working Group Chairs of these sessions to make an
announcement to the session attendees that the session will be
experimentally webcast.
More information on the webcast experiments including connection
instructions can be found at:
http://www.ripe.net/ripe/meetings/current/ripe-44/connectivity.html
We welcome your feedback on these trials. Please send your comments to:
ripecast@localhost.
Regards,
The RIPE NCC
