RIPE Region Hostcount for January 2002

Dear All,

below is the hostcount for January 2002. 

The table shows an increase since last month of over 760,000 (or 4,9%) 
to a total of almost 16,415,000 hosts in the DNS in Europe and
surrounding areas.

The es domain shows the highest increase for January with approximately
549,256 hosts more than in December.

- Brief Notes on this Hostcount -

The December, 2001 data for bf, cf, dj, ir, ne and om was reused 
since no new collection could be done in January for those domains
due to AXFR blocks and unreachable nameservers.
