EuroCERT Open Meeting

12. January 1998., Milano - Italy

This is an open meeting organized by EuroCERT with the intention of gathering
European Computer Incident Response Teams and other interested parties
together. This meeting is an offspring of the previous FSIG-Europe meetings
(FIRST Special Interest Group) organized by DFN-CERT from Germany.

This year the meeting is aligned with FIRST sponsored Technical Colloquium
and the meeting of the FIRST Steering Committees so it will be opportunity to
meet some of well established FIRST members from teams worldwide.
However, emphasis is given to European teams and issues.

Objectives of meeting:

        *) To allow European CERT members to get to know each other and
           share their experience;

        *) to discuss the immediate steps in order to achieve better
           cooperation among teams.

Agenda:

	 9:00 - 12:00 Part I
			- presentation of EuroCERT
			- presentation of new and existing teams
			- teams/groups/people expectation (especially new ones)
			- information sharing (who will be contacted, when....)
	 				
	12:00 - 14:00 Lunch-on-your-own

	14:00 - 17:00 Part II
			- how to unify terminology (what is an incident)
			- what kind of information to share, when, in what form
			- what statistics can be produced
			- PGP signing party (please send your keys to
			  eurocert@localhost)

CERT-IT is kind to provide limited help regarding hotel accomodation however
since rooms in Mec hotel are reserved for FIRST event they cannot 
guarantee that rooms will be available for attendees of EuroCERT
meeting. If some rooms remain unreserved after December 18th, they will
be allocated for attendees of EuroCERT meeting on FIFO basis. All other
attendees will be notified that reservation is not done and they will 
have to make their own arrangements.

public-request@localhost. Some of 'seeds for discussion' will be
availabe on <http://www.eurocert.net/Misc/seeds.html> in next day or two.

Note: Unfortunately non-FIRST members are not permitted to participate in
the Technical Colloquium, nor Steering Committee Meetings (they are
usually very boring).

EuroCERT is a service provided as part of the SIRCE (Security Incident
Co-ordination for Europe) pilot sponsored by TERENA . This service provides
an information resource for computer Incident Response Teams (IRTs). In its
current stage the primary objective is to collect and distribute
information regarding existing IRTs in Europe. For more information

FIRST, the Forum of Incident Response and Security Teams (FIRST), brings
together a variety of computer security incident response teams from
government, commercial, and academic organizations. FIRST aims to foster
cooperation and coordination in incident prevention, to prompt rapid reaction
to incidents, and to promote information sharing among members and the
