Hostcount for September 1996

Dear all,

Here is the hostcount for September 1996. 

The table shows an increase since last month of over 170,000 (or 5.7%) 
to a total of almost 3,300,000 hosts in the DNS in Europe.

Over the last quarter the number of hosts in Europe increased by +12.5%.

The UK shows the highest increase for September with more than
45,000(!) hosts more than in August. DE still has the highest total
amount of hosts registered.

Last month I reported about a few zones that showed a significant
decrease of hosts. At least for AT we found a reason: lack of disc
space to hold the complete output file. The count was repeated
beginning of September. The corrected data for AT can be found at
