Better late than never, here's the March 1994 RIPE DNS hostcount. Some
comments:
- a mistake in the January 1994 hostcount caused the January and
February counts to be off by 17. I have corrected this in the
hostcounts for these months, and in the Overview appended below. Also
all files on ftp.ripe.net have been changed to reflect this.
- only a few countries went slightly down, CS for obvious reasons
(migrating to CZ and SK) and only PL really showed a little less.
Interesting is that I have counted France(FR) 3 times in two days, and
have seen a difference in the outcome of over 7000 machines ... The
best has been included below.
- overall a nice increase of just over 32,000 to over 655,000. The
increase this quarter has been 18.4 percent, slightly higher than last
quarter.
- Germany (DE), United Kingdom (UK) and Ireland (IE) have been counted
from within the country, all other countries counted from Amsterdam.
- all output (gzipped) again available on ftp.ripe.net:ripe/hostcount

It only contains the totals. The totals for 1990-1991 should be considered
rather unstable and unreliable because the program used then was not really
tuned, plus the count was not done as regular as it is now.
Count : total hostcount for all European top level domains
Delta : delta since previous count
Delta % : delta as percentage of previous count
Q Delta : delta over the past quarter
Q Delta%: delta over last quarter as percentage of end of last quarter count
For the Q Deltas I have not calculated those back before 1992, because the
figures for 1990-1991 are not too reliable.
