[ncc-services-wg] Charter
- Date: Wed, 20 Aug 2003 13:26:00 +0200
All,
I called for volunteers to help me write the proposal of the charter
some weeks ago. My plan was to get this done while I was on vacation,
and once back take it to the list.
Unfortunately the laptop-gods where against me and my laptop crashed.
So in order to save some time, I will take the charter directly to the
list. My apologies to all those that volunteered, and many thanks for
offering to help out.
Attached is my rudimentary proposal. Please feel free to comment!
Best regards,

Charter for the RIPE NCC Services Working Group
1. AIM
The aim of the RIPE NCC Services Working Group, is to provide a
open forum for discussions on the current and future activites of
the RIPE NCC, in terms of registration services, other permanent
services as well as in terms of shorter or longer projects. The
aim is also to act as a forum for discussions of the performance
and the quality of the RIPE NCC in carrying out the before
mentioned tasks.
The RIPE NCC Services Working Group, in acting as a forum like
above will give the participants the opportunity to discuss the
matters, however as these eventually are impacting on the RIPE NCC
budgets, the final say and decision power will always lay with the
AGM of the RIPE NCC.
The RIPE NCC Services Working Group, will also allow the
discussions around new proposals for the RIPE NCC to take on, and
for discussions of technical and non-technical issues around these
projects. If the RIPE membership whishes, discussions around
particular projects or tasks could or should be moved over to it's
own working-groups.
2. Who can participate
Although the discusions in the working-group might lead to
proposals that have impact on the RIPE NCC budget, just as any
other RIPE working-group, participation is open to anyone, and the
working-group can not enforce any proposals in terms of activities
of the RIPE NCC.
3. Workplan
The work of the RIPE NCC Services Working Group will consits of
regular updates from the RIPE NCC on the activities, performance,
financials of registration services as wellw as projects, and
other topics within the aim of the working-group that the RIPE NCC
feels it would like to share with the participants.
The working-group will also act as a forum for presentations of
new activities or concerns over existing activities as set out in the aims
of the working group.
4. Managment
The RIPE NCC Working Group will have one chair, and one
co-chair. If a position needs to be filled, voting will take place at
the next RIPE NCC Services Working Group meeting at a RIPE meeting.
