[ipv6-wg@localhost] Configuration in IP networks

Hi,

I was wondering about how nodes (hosts/routers)
configures in an IP network. Do they use NMS or EMS to
do this? 

I was also thinking about how all this would be done
for IPv6 networks. Especially in the context that it
supports auto-configuration.

If anybody knows anything about this, can you please
share your thoughts?
