Conference Announcement - Call for Papers

1st IPv6 Conference of the IPv6 Forum
in Germany 1999

Ladies and Gentlemen,

The newly formed IPv6-Forum, supported by more than 45 companies and institutions from all over the world, organizes jointly with Deutsche Telekom and the DFN Association (German Research Network) a two-day IPv6 Conference in Berlin on December 8th and 9th 1999.

The focus of this conference will be to inform the audience about the new Internet Protocol version 6 (IPv6), to exchange experiences and to make a contribution to its introduction and deployment. The emphasis will be on the development of the Internet with IPv6 in Europe and in particular the German-speaking part of the world. We would like to ask for active support to the success of this conference from all IPv6 Forum members, Internet users, Internet Service Providers (ISPs), Research and Education and other Internet vendors.

While we have secured some excellent contributions from leading experts in this part of the world, we would like to submit this call for papers on current IPv6 standardization, use of the IPv6 address space, use of characteristics and benefits of the new protocol, IPv6 from an ISP perspective, success stories substantiating IPv6 deployment, IPv6 transition strategies, conversion to IPv6 and the meaning of IPv6 for the Internet development in Germany.

The conference language is German, in exceptional cases English is welcome. Short papers should be provided no later than September 30th 1999 to the program committee. The program committee will decide by October 15th 1999 on the contributions.

Besides the presentations, there will be a possibility for demonstrations of IPv6 solutions from manufacturers and developer teams. For interested companies a sponsoring possibility exists on request.

Please pass this announcement to the appropriate persons in your company. Vendors and ISPs are encouraged to inform/invite their customers.

Help us to make IPv6 become the core of the New Internet!
