Subject: IPv6 Address Management Plan

Bob,

Have the IPv6 developers settled on an Address Management Plan ?

If so, I would like to develop a simple mapping from our 43 bit
IPv8 addresses to the IPv6 transport. Do you have any suggestions
on how you would do this ?

Since the addresses are broken into 3, 8 and 32 bit fields there
is some opportunity to map those to the various fields in the IPv6
address fields. I have hesitated to do this while IPv6 is still a
moving target.

Any guidance that you can provide would be helpful. I want to
start testing using the IPv6 transport and would like to make
sure we do not have to redo our IPv8 Address Management Plan.
In this area, it pays to get it right the first time.

Thanks in advance...
