Jim, you are wrong here. The "Interim Procedures" state nowhere that
they are "only for trials"

I agree we should be careful how we proceed with this issue not
to awake sleeping lions, some people in ITU-T are wating for
something like this to happen.

OTOH, you approach to simple state that sh*t happens is also
not feasable. IMO RIPE should first look what can be done and
Michaels proposals should at least be taken into account
