Hi folks,
The RIPE 53 meeting will be held from the 2nd to the 6th October in
Amsterdam.
If you have an item for the EIX Working Group, please let me, or Christian
or Fearghas know ASAP.
"Regular" exchange point updates shall be less than 5 minutes in length and
have minimal slideware.
Maybe we should have Yellow (to tell you to wind up) and Red (to stop)
cards, a bit like a lightning talk?
That said, the sooner you can let me know if you'll have something to say
the better. The last couple of meetings, I've been plagued by people
turning up moments before the session demanding to speak - this makes it
difficult to agenda plan.
If your exchange has something more substantive to talk about, please send
a brief abstract/description of what you plan to present, along with a time
estimate, and we can allocate you agenda time accordingly.
At the last couple of meetings, we have run over into lunch or the coffee
break. We realise that a key element of RIPE meetings is the social
mingling during the breaks and as such would prefer not to run over (...we
also don't like finding all the profiteroles gone from the dessert buffet
by the time we get there).
Therefore, if it looks like we have more items than slot time (we currently
have one 90 minute slot allocated), I can seek an additional slot from the
RIPE NCC, otherwise have to trim the agenda to fit.
As such, I am very tempted to put substantive items at the start of the
session, with the "vanilla" updates at the end, and welcome feedback on
this approach.
Finally, I will be in the US the week before RIPE, so I'd like to try and
get at least a draft by agenda in the bag by the end of August, and as
close as possible to final by the 22nd September.
Thanks,
Mike
