	as long as this announced change is fresh in your
	minds, it might be useful to make the changes in
	you live systems, then be on the lookout for 
	any new systems deployed in the next few years
	as it will nessasary to fix them as well (since
	they are already in the "channel" and will have
	stale data.)

	in general, this is not a make/break situation.
	there is no flag day. folks can even make the change
	before the "insertion" day and still be functional.
