I suggest to put more prudence in judging this kind of matters.
Politicians alwasy use any possible topic available for their political
goals, which under elections are usually aimed ONLY to gain more votes.

Of course anything done by a party will be negatively enlighted by the
other party and viceversa.

Thus a serious suggestion is not to play the games that all politicians
play all time with their electors, whichever side or party they are.

There is a law which states the goverment, whichever party is on duty, has
to informs in all possible ways citizens about election times and rules.

The method which was used may be criticised, not the principle.
