Dear colleagues,

SANOG IV Encourages Middle East Participation

SANOG IV, to be held 23 - 30 July 2004 in Katmandu, Nepal, will include
items in the programme specific to the Middle East. SANOG IV is organised
by The South Asia Network Operators Group (SANOG). It is hoped that a
variety of organisations from the Middle East will participate in SANOG IV.

A West Asia Birds of a Feather (BoF) is scheduled to take place on 28 July
2004. This will focus on issues specific to the Middle East. If you would
like to suggest a topic to include in this BoF please contact Bijal
Sanghani at: BSanghani@localhost.

The RIPE NCC will provide a Hostmaster Consultation Centre on 29 July 2004.
This is an opportunity for both RIPE NCC members and non-members from the
Middle East to discuss their questions with RIPE NCC Hostmasters. Attendees
will be able to discuss issues specific to their organisations, including:

- Setting up a Local Internet Registry (LIR) with the RIPE NCC
- RIPE community policies and RIPE NCC procedures
- IPv4 allocations or assignment requests
- ASN requests
- IPv6 allocations or assignment requests
- The RIPE Database
- The RIPE NCC LIR Portal

- Three Workshops on Routing, DNS/DNSSec and IP services
- Eight Tutorials in multiple tracks : Routing, Anti-Spam, VOIP, IXP,
Routing Registries and more
- BoFs: PGP Key Party, Regional Policy, IXP, ISP-Security
- APNIC Training and Regional Policy Meeting
- APCAUCE Meeting
