Just one additional clarification:

Typically those members (the LIRs) are organisations (ISPs, companies,
associations,...) and, depending on their size and thus financial
contribution, can control a certain number of votes in the NCC's AGM
(the Association's General Assembly).

However, even if a person happens to be affiliated with an LIR, the
person participates in RIPE as an individual! In the sense of one
