Published as an RFC.

I haven't heared about mergers of companies of any size yet where the 
internal networks of the merging companies were totally integrated
immediately after the merger. Usually this process -if done at all-
Involves considerable planning and re-engineering.

Conflicts in this case are also not serious at the moment of
the merger as the public parts of both networks can communicate before
and after the merger.
