From henk at ripe.net Tue Feb 22 08:34:07 2005 From: henk at ripe.net (Henk Uijterwaal (RIPE NCC)) Date: Tue, 22 Feb 2005 08:34:07 +0100 (CET) Subject: [dnsmon-user] Turning DNSMON into a production service Message-ID: Dear All, Last week, we received the last comments on the DNSMON service agreement. We addressed all the issues raised, and no major changes were necessary. We are now preparing the document for publication and expect it to appear as RIPE Document RIPE 342 soon. The text is already available at: http://www.ripe.net/ripe/draft-documents/DNSMonV9_1.pdf We will formally introduce DNSMON as a membership service on 1 March 2005 and will e-mail you a service contract shortly after this datek. If you want to continue using this service, you will have to: - Print two copies of the service contract and ask an authorized representative in your company to sign both. - If you do not already use services from the RIPE NCC for which a service contract has been signed, you will have to obtain a copy of the document that proves your company is a registered legal entity, authorised to carry out business activities in your country. Your local Chamber of Commerce usually issues these. - Post the document and your contract to the RIPE NCC. Let us know by e-mail whether you want to be in the SMALL, MEDIUM or LARGE category. When we receive your paperwork, we will: - let you know we have received them by e-mail, - sign the contracts, - return one copy to you by post, - send you an invoice for this year's service fee. In 2005, the fee will run from April, so you will only pay 9/12 of the nominal fee. We will let you know how to pay. We will continue to offer this service free of charge until 4 April 2005. On that day, we will password protect the DNSMON website and send login details only to Top Level Domain (TLD) Administrators who have a service contract. Public access to the data will be available with a two-hour time delay. On 4 April, we will stop offering support to TLD administrators who have not signed a service contract and may disable monitoring of their TLDs without further notice. If you plan to sign the contract but cannot do this by 4 April, please let us know right away. In recent months, several users suggested additional features for this service. We have noted all suggestions. As soon as we have finished setting up contracts for this service, we will look at the suggestions and come up with a possible implementation scheme. We will post this on the DNSMON Mailing List. If you have any questions, please contact us.
