a RP RR takes two arguments. You want to write
  mydomain.com	IN	RP	abuse.mydomain.com. .
The second argument is an optional reference to another RR like
    example.com.  IN	RP	abuse.example.com. abuse.people.example.com.
    abuse.people.example.com. IN TXT "Abuse Dept, phone: 555-1234"
