Re: Proposed RIPE document

Thanks for all the comments.

The idea was to adopt the LINX BCP as it is, and to only make
changes where the BCP would otherwise not make sense in the RIPE
context.

We are in danger of writing a new document if we make some of the
changes recently proposed. That might be a good idea, but it will
mean further delay and is not what we agreed to. Enhancements are
for a future release.

I can't find anything which forbids that.

Clive's words are better than mine and I will include them in the
bracketed paragraph in section 5 so that it becomes --

: (UK Data Protection legislation implements Directive 97/66/EC;
: legislation in other EU countries will be similar. The UK Data
: Protection Registrar offers Guidelines explaining the Data
: Protection Principles, and the questions above follow these
:  guidelines.)

I think these count as enhancements so I have not included them;
but thanks for sending them to the list.

As I said earlier, I believe we should do neither in this particular
version; but this is an interesting suggestion for the future.

RIPE NCC ask that I format the document consistently with other
current documents. I shall insert a Contents table, and that is the
only change I think is required.

So we seem to be still on target!

Thank you all.
Rodney.
