Group 3: Conflicting records with routing policy specification

What happened to my ASN record in the RIPE Whois Database?

Your ASN has corresponding records in both the ARIN and RIPE Whois Database. Because information in these records is different, we have to identify the legitimate holder of the resource.

The aut-num object in the RIPE Database contains routing policy specifications which suggests that it belongs to the RIPE Routing Registry and also has operational purpose. Therefore we kindly ask all contacts for this ASN to resolve any conflicts before the aut-num object is updated in the RIPE Whois Database.

A notification with the two versions of the aut-num object - the one generated from the ARIN database and the one that exists in the RIPE Database - has been sent to all contacts for the ASN.
You may request the two versions by sending a message to er-transfer@ripe.net with the following in the subject line: MERGE:<AS#> (# is the number of your AS).

For example:

Subject: MERGE:AS3333

What conflicts must be resolved?

We kindly ask all contacts to reach consensus regarding the following attributes of the aut-num object:

as-name:
descr:
admin-c:
tech-c:
mnt-by:

Please reply to er-transfer@ripe.net including all recipients of the original notification you received from the RIPE NCC regarding this issue.

What happens next?

As soon as conflicts are resolved, the object can be updated either by the holders of the resource or by the RIPE NCC depending on the nature of conflicts.

If consensus cannot be reached before Friday, 6 September, the two versions of the aut-num object will be merged. This will not affect your continued use of the ASN.

After that, you may wish to update your object with the current information. Your original maintainer will still work. If you are the legitmate holder of this resource and do not have the maintainer information, please contact er-transfer@ripe.net.
