PAM 2001 Instructions for Authors

Paper Format

Papers for PAM2000 are to be published in both bound proceedings and on the web. The paper is expected to be 10-15 pages in length using A4 letter sized paper, It should use the IEEE two column format. Papers should be submitted in either LaTeX (2e or 2.09) or MSWord format. Style files for both of these can downloaded here:

The final day for submission of papers is on March 5th, 2001 (see below for details of the submission process).

How to submit your paper

Papers can be submitted by uploading them as postscript files to the RIPE NCC ftp site at ftp.ripe.net:/test-traffic/pam2001. In more detail:

  1. Papers can be submitted as a postscript file. If you use LaTeX to prepare your document, convert the output to postscript with dvips or a similar tool. If you use MSWord, install a postscript printer and print the document to a file, using that printer. Using a simple postscript printer (Apple Laserwriter, for example) is recommended.
  2. If the paper consists of more than 1 file, pack them into a single archive with tar or zip.
  3. Compress the file with gzip. This is optional.
  4. Please call your file "NNNN_lastname.extension", where:
    • NNNN: The 4 digit number included in your acceptance letter.
    • lastname: The last name of the first author
    • extension: one of:
      • ps: Postscript.
      • ps.gz: gzip'ped postscript.
      • tar: tar archive.
      • tar.gz: gzip'ped tar archive.
      • zip: zip archive.
      Note: other formats are NOT acceptable.
  5. Connect to ftp.ripe.net, username anonymous, password your_email_address.
  6. Type: cd test-traffic/pam2001.
  7. Upload the file (usually with put filename).
  8. After you have uploaded the file, send a mail to pam2001 with the name of the file that you just uploaded.
