AfriNIC To Function as RIR for African Region

AfriNIC is the emerging Regional Internet Registry (RIR) for the African and Indian Ocean region. In preparation for its final recognition expected in April by ICANN, AfriNIC will begin operating as a fully functional RIR for the African region from 21 February 2005.

The RIPE NCC is committed to its members and has therefore created a structured transition for members moving from the RIPE NCC to AfriNIC. Details of the transition can be found at:
