RIPE NCC Membership Survey 2002

Announcements:

[20-01-2003]

Dear Colleagues,

As you are aware, the RIPE NCC commissioned KPMG to carry out a members and stakeholders survey on its behalf from 29 August to 31 October 2002.

The focus of the survey was to give the membership and stakeholders a formal opportunity to voice opinions on the services provided by the RIPE NCC, and to give constructive input needed to plan services for the future.

The survey included e-mailed responses and face-to-face meetings. There were a total of 285 respondents.

The results of the survey, in full and abridged versions, are now available and can be found at:

http://www.ripe.net/membership/survey2002/results

I wish to thank the members of the community who provided valuable feedback. I look forward to discussing the survey and results at the upcoming RIPE Meeting here in Amsterdam next week during Thursday's plenary session.

I also wish to thank KPMG for conducting a professional and insightful analysis of our membership.

Regards,

Axel Pawlik
RIPE NCC

Dear members and stakeholders,

You may be aware that the RIPE NCC recently announced that we have commissioned KPMG to independently carry out a member and stakeholder survey on our behalf to take place from 1 September to 1 November 2002. The aim of this survey is to gather information from RIPE NCC members and stakeholders to help the RIPE NCC plan and improve its services to the membership.

We would therefore like to invite you to participate in this survey by filling out and returning the survey forms to KPMG by 31st October. All responses go directly to KPMG and the source or identity of any input to the survey will remain confidential.

The full details regarding this project can be found on our web site at:

http://www.ripe.net/membership/survey2002

Here you will find the Members Survey form, the Stakeholder Survey form and information for respondents.

John Earls from KPMG will be coordinating this project. He will attend the RIPE 43 Meeting in Rhodes and will be available to discuss the survey with you in further detail.

During September and October, John will be visiting a number of cities in the RIPE NCC service region to talk face to face with randomly selected members and stakeholders. In each city he has also scheduled a late afternoon opportunity for an informal discussion open to all members of the RIPE NCC. These open forums will allow those who attend to raise issues that they believe should be considered in the RIPE NCC future planning process. The schedule of locations and dates for these meetings can also be found on our web site at:

http://www.ripe.net/membership/survey2002/locations.html

We will be sending out additional information over the next few weeks.

Dear member,

In 1998 the RIPE NCC carried out its first ever membership survey.

Since then much has changed in the Internet industry. To ensure that it the RIPE NCC is up to date with members' needs and future requirements, we have commissioned KPMG to conduct an independent survey of our members and stakeholders on behalf of the RIPE NCC.

The goal of the survey is to give all members the opportunity to confidentially voice their opinions and provide constructive input needed for the RIPE NCC to evaluate its operations and plan future services and developments.

The survey will take place between September and November of this year. All members of the RIPE NCC are invited to respond to an online survey directly to KPMG. In addition, members can participate in open forum discussions to be held in various locations throughout the RIPE NCC service region. A representative of KPMG will also conduct a series of direct consultation meetings at various locations.

The RIPE NCC is dedicated to serving the needs of all its members. Therefore your participation in this survey is greatly appreciated.
