The following demos took place during the RIPE NCC Regional Meeting
in Qatar.
Routing Information Service:
The RIS collects and stores BGP routing information and makes it
publicly available for the Internet community.
The RIS DB and its tools can help network operators troubleshoot
routing problems by providing eBGP data collected over time without
being limited to a single BGP view. Archived raw RIS data since
September 1999 is also available for research purposes. Tools based
on the RIS include BGPlay and myASn.
More information about the Routing Information Service is available
at:
http://www.ripe.net/projects/ris/index.html
BGPlay:
This visualises BGP updates in the Routing Information Service's
(RIS) Database.
BGPlay was developed by the Computer Networks Research Group at
Roma Tre University. It is hosted by the RIPE NCC, who provide direct
access to the RIS database. Its animated, interactive graphical
display makes it easier to interpret how BGP updates affect the
routing of a specific prefix than by analysing the updates themselves.
More information about the BGPlay is available at:
http://www.ris.ripe.net/bgplay/
MyASn:
RIPE NCC's Alarm System for BGP Notification system for BGP that
can generate alerts in cases of unexpected routing behaviour depending
on user configuration.
More information about the MyASn is available at:
http://www.ris.ripe.net/myasn.html
dnsmon:
RIPE NCC DNS Monitoring
'dnsmon' provides a comprehensive, objective and up-to-date overview
on the quality of service of high level DNS servers. These are currently
the root servers and some participating TLD servers.
More information about the dnsmon is available at:
http://dnsmon.ripe.net
TTM:
RIPE NCC's Test Traffic Measurements (TTM)
TTM measures key parameters of connectivity between your site and
other networks on the Internet. This includes one-way delay, IPDV
('jitter'), routing vectors and packet loss.
More information about the TTM is available at:
