Workshops
On Wednesday, 24 September, there were workshops about IPv6 and DNSSEC.
DNSSEC Workshop
DNSSEC implementation considerations

IPv6 Workshop
IPv6 Security
Presenter: Mikhail Kader, CISCO
Abstract: This lecture is about the security of IPv6 protocol, which should be a major concern now that Windows Vista has IPv6 enabled by default. The session starts with a threat comparison between IPv4 and IPv6 networks with topics like neighbor discovery, IP spoofing, and scanning by worms.
It also addresses some specific IPv6 issues like transition mechanisms
(especially tunneling techniques) and mobile IPv6. Basic knowledge of
IPv6 and a broad understanding of security in an IPv4 network are
prerequisites.
IPv6 Depoyment
IPv6 Basics 8.4 MB
IPv6 Startup 1.7 MB

This workshop will start introducing the reasons for IPv6, the main
differences between IPv4 and IPv6, together with aspects such as IP mobility
and what are really advantages and what are myths. Then transition
technologies will then be explained and basic guidelines for the deployment
in different scenarios will be provided. Finally, tips for the IPv6
deployment in broadband networks will complete the workshop.
