[ncc-regional-middle-east] Regional Peering

  • From: "Salman Al-Mannai" salmannai@localhost
  • Date: Tue, 22 Aug 2006 14:11:25 +0300
  • Priority: normal

Hope that all are back and enjoyed a very pleasant break during the summer,

As per our last exchanged e-mail messages, the idea of establishing a regional peering was welcomed by all, during the slow days of summer, our colleagues in QATAR ISP have shown me an interesting statistics on their peering link with UAE and BAHRAIN it showed that the utilization of QATAR-UAE, which was DS3 (45Mb/s), averaged at 55%! and QATAR-BAHRAIN (E1) has exceeded the maximum which means that the traffic exchanged between both is way above 2 Mb/s.

hence, I encourage all our colleagues to join in the Peering/NAP project as I've learned that a meeting is being planned soon.

regards
