*RIPE NCC General Meeting April 2006 Announcement*
Dear RIPE NCC Member,
The Executive Board of the RIPE NCC Association is pleased to invite you
to the General Meeting (GM) of the RIPE NCC membership. The meeting will
be held on Wednesday, 26 April 2006 at:

*Registration*
Registration for the RIPE Meeting does not include registration for the
GM. You must register separately. Registration opens Wednesday, 15 March
2006. You can attend the RIPE NCC Services Working Group session and the
GM without being registered for the RIPE 52 meeting. A list of
registered attendees will be published regularly on the RIPE NCC web site.

When you arrive at the GM meeting you will receive a meeting folder

*RIPE NCC Reports*
The RIPE NCC reporting for the General Meeting (GM) will be presented in
the RIPE NCC Services Working Group. GM attendees who have not
registered for the RIPE meeting are welcome to participate in this
working group session. This takes place on Wednesday, 26 April 2006 from
16:00 – 17:00.
The RIPE NCC reports will not be repeated in the General Meeting.
*Voting & Resolutions*
Please note that candidate members are welcome to attend the meeting but
are not permitted to vote according to article 16.3 of the RIPE NCC
Articles of Association. Members who are not able to attend the GM but
still want to vote can do so by means of proxy voting as per article
16.4. To nominate a proxy voter please follow instructions on:

been submitted and published according to articles 15.3 and 15.4:

The RIPE NCC 2005 Annual Report will be available for review week
commencing 27 March 2006.

*RIPE NCC Call for Nominations for Executive Board Seat - April 2006*
In compliance with the RIPE NCC Articles of Association, the RIPE NCC is
calling for nominations to the RIPE NCC Executive Board.
The vacant seat is for a three-year term and is to fill the place
currently held by Frode Greisen, whose term expires in April 2006.
Voting for the appointment of the RIPE NCC Executive Board member will
take place at the upcoming RIPE NCC General Meeting (GM). The GM will be
held on Wednesday, 26 April 2006 at the Ceylan Intercontinental Hotel in
Istanbul, Turkey.
Please submit your nomination prior to Wednesday, 5 April 2006,
following the guidelines outlined in article 7 of the RIPE NCC Articles
of Association. You can read excerpts of the general guidelines for this
process, below.

You must be a RIPE NCC member and a registered LIR contact to support a
nomination.
Nomination submissions should include the following information:

· Name of candidate you wish to support:

Excerpts from the RIPE NCC Articles of Association:
Article [7.1] The executive board of the association shall consist of at
least three and at most five natural persons. They shall be member of
the board in a personal capacity and do not have to be members of the
association. Employees of the association cannot be appointed member of
the executive board.
Article [7.2] The members of the executive board shall be appointed by
the general meeting from a list of nominees to be drawn up by the
members. A nomination for the appointment of a member of the executive
board shall need the written support of at least five members. If three
weeks before the general meeting the number of candidates does not
exceed the number of vacancies, the executive board shall have to
nominate one or more candidates so that the total number of proposed
candidates shall exceed the number of members of the executive board to
be appointed by the general meeting.
Article [8.3] The membership in the executive board shall become
effective at the end of the general meeting at which the member is
appointed and shall automatically terminate at the end of the annual
meeting in the third calendar year after the year in which the member
was appointed. The member shall be eligible for immediate re-appointment.
