Becoming a Member of the RIPE NCC
We refer to our members as 'Local Internet Registries' (LIRs).
Should I become a member?
YES: If your organisation needs a large amount of IPv4, IPv6 and AS Numbers, routable blocks of address space and/or makes assignments to End Users or customers. See the online application form for more information.
NO: If you need a small amount of IP addresses and don't make assignments to End Users or customers. See how to request Independent Resources for information on how to get IP addresses without becoming a member.
RIPE NCC Members can:
- Request IPv4 and IPv6 address space, AS Numbers and related services
- Digitally certify their Internet number resources
- Attend the RIPE NCC General Meetings, provide feedback on the RIPE NCC Activity Plan, vote to accept the RIPE NCC Charging Scheme, Financial Report and vote candidates onto the RIPE NCC Executive Board
- Attend RIPE NCC Training Courses
- Use two free tickets to a RIPE Meeting
- Manage registry data and make Internet number resource requests using an LIR Portal account
You do not need to be a member of the RIPE NCC to:
- Take part in the RIPE Policy Development Process (PDP)
- Attend RIPE Meetings
- Use some RIPE NCC Services
