Groups
Much of the work carried out by the RIPE community takes place in Working Groups, Task Forces and less formal Birds of a Feather (BoF) gatherings.
Policy Development
The RIPE community develops and sets policies through a long established, open, bottom-up process of discussion and consensus-based decision making.
Current policy proposals
Working Groups
The RIPE community has formed a number of working groups to deal with issues and topics affecting the Internet community. The RIPE Working Groups meet in dedicated sessions at RIPE Meetings. Each working group also has its own mailing list to facilitate discussion.
Task Forces
RIPE tasks are structured in two ways: time frame and task group. The task groups will be assigned to task forces, which are groups of individuals having a vital interest to achieve the tasks.
BoFs
BoF (Birds of a Feather) sessions take place at some RIPE Meetings. The aim is to start an informal discussion on a topic of shared interest among RIPE Meeting attendees.
