He is responsible for the planning and communication behind the RIPE NCC's many products and services. This includes lifecycle management, gathering and prioritising customer requirements, defining the product vision, and working closely with technical development departments to ensure the RIPE NCC delivers successful products and services. Alex has in-depth knowledge of RIPE NCC's products and services, and their target audience -- the RIPE NCC membership and the RIPE community.<br /><br />Alex frequently travels throughout the RIPE NCC service region (Europe, the Middle East and Central Asia) to deliver presentations on behalf of the RIPE NCC on a number of topics, including: resource certification (RPKI), Internet policy and governance, IPv4 and IPv6, the RIPE Routing Registry, and the RIPE Policy Development Process.<br /><br />Prior to his current role, Alex was a Trainer at the RIPE NCC for four years.<br /><b></b></p>]]></content:encoded>

<p>Anand Buddhdev holds a Bachelor's degree in Electronic Engineering  from the University of Manchester. He has many years of experience in  system engineering, which he gained while working at Internet service  providers in Kenya.</p>
<p>He joined the RIPE NCC in 2006, and is currently a Senior Engineer within the Global Information Infrastructure department. In this role, he is responsible for all the  internal and external services that this department provides, including  operations of K-root, reverse DNS, ENUM, DNSSEC for all the RIPE NCC's  DNS zones, secondary DNS for some ccTLDs and an AS112 node.</p>]]></content:encoded>

<p>Andrew graduated from the University of Amsterdam, The Netherlands,  with      Masters Degrees in Business Administration and Strategic  Management &amp;      Organisation.</p>
<p>Before joining the RIPE NCC in 2006, Andrew was employed at KPMG       Strategy Consulting and Accenture Consulting for over 10 years. His  main fields of expertise have been Customer Relationship Management,       Business Process Improvement and IT (organisational) strategy.</p>
<p>As COO, his main responsibilities are managing the organisation's  core      operations (Member Services) and supporting software  development. In      addition, he is also involved in various external  activities such as      certification, RIPE policy development, intra  RIR cooperation and      external representation.      Andrew is a  driving force behind the development of the RIPE NCC's      long-term  strategy to ensure that it continues to meet the membership’s      needs  and is prepared for future developments.</p>]]></content:encoded>

She defines the RIPE NCC legal framework, provides advice, and gives legal support for all RIPE NCC activities. Athina works with a variety of Internet stakeholders such as network operators, governments, and Law Enforcement Agencies (LEA). She also represents the RIPE NCC in a variety of fora such as technical meetings and EU-organised events.<br /> <br /> Athina Fragkouli holds a Master of Legal Informatics (LL. M Rechtsinformatik) from the University of Hanover, where she specialised in IT law, IP law, Communications law and Data Protection law. She obtained her law degree from the Democritus University of Thrace in 2005 and she is a lawyer and a member of the Athens Bar Association. Before she joined the RIPE NCC, she enhanced her experience with European institutions by working as a stagiaire in the European Data Protection Supervisor.<br /> <br /> Athina joined the RIPE NCC in 2009.<br /> <br /></p>]]></content:encoded>

<p>Axel graduated from the University of Dortmund, Germany, with a  Masters     Degree in Computer Science. He was later employed at the  University of     Dortmund from 1985 to 1992, where he contributed to  the establishment of     UNIX networking as a publicly available service  in Germany. This     institution introduced Internet access services to  the business     community and general public.</p>
<p>From 1987-1991, he also served as a member of the Board of the German     Unix Users Group (GUUG).</p>
<p>Understanding the demand for a commercial operation to provide      Internet services, Axel founded EUnet Deutschland GmbH in 1992 and      commercialised the operation. Under his leadership, EUnet Deutschland      GmbH became the market leader in Germany and one of the strongest  EUnet     networks in Europe.</p>]]></content:encoded>

Previously, he served as an IETF Area Director (in OPS and SUBIP). He is credited as an author on 28 RFCs.</p>]]></content:encoded>

<p>Chris Buckridge is External Relations Officer for the RIPE NCC. This role involves engaging the broad range of RIPE NCC stakeholders, including RIPE NCC members, governments, law enforcement agencies (LEAs) and international organisations such as the United Nations, the European Commission, the OECD and the International Telecommunications Union. He regularly presents in a range of international fora on issues including Internet governance and IPv6 deployment. <br /><br />Chris has worked in the Regional Internet Registry (RIR) system for the past seven years. Born in Brisbane, Australia, he began working for the Asia Pacific Network Information Centre (APNIC) in 2003, before relocating to Amsterdam in 2006 to take up a position in the Communications Department of the RIPE NCC. He has been in the role of External Relations Officer since 2010.<br /><br /></p>]]></content:encoded>

    <content:encoded xmlns:content="http://purl.org/rss/1.0/modules/content/"><![CDATA[<p><img src="http://www.ripe.net/images/daniel_karrenberg.jpg" alt="Photo of Daniel Karrenberg" class="image-right" title="Daniel Karrenberg" /><b>Daniel Karrenberg</b> is one of the pioneers of the Internet in Europe. <br /><br />In the 1980s, he helped build EUnet, the first pan-European Internet Service Provider (ISP). In 1989, Daniel was one of the founders of RIPE (Réseaux IP Européens), the key collaborative forum in Europe for Internet coordination. In the 1990s, Daniel led the formation of the world's first Regional Internet Registry, the RIPE Network Coordination Centre (RIPE NCC), serving Europe, the Middle East and parts of Africa and Central Asia.<br /><br />Daniel Karrenberg has been the Chief Scientist at the RIPE NCC since 2000. Since then, Daniel has played a leading role in a significant number of operational activities in the Internet community, including RIPE Routing Information Service (RIS), RIPE Test Traffic Measurements (TTM), DNS Monitoring Service (DNSMON) and Name Server Demon (NSD). His current interests remain the Internet in general as well as trust, identity and measurements on the Internet in particular.<br /><br />Daniel has served on a number of Internet governance bodies. Most recently, he finished his second three-year term as a trustee of the <a class="external-link" href="http://www.isoc.org/">Internet Society</a>. He has been Chairman of the Board of Trustees for three years. Daniel was inducted into the <a class="external-link" href="http://internethalloffame.org/inductees/daniel-karrenberg">Internet Hall of Fame</a> in 2012.</p>
<p><br /><br />In 2001, Daniel was awarded the prestigious <a class="external-link" href="http://www.isoc.org/postel/">John Postel Internet Service Award</a> "for two decades of extraordinary dedication to the development of networking in Europe and around the world".</p>
<p><br /><br />Daniel lives in Roermond, the Netherlands with his wife and children. <br /><br /></p>]]></content:encoded>

In the 10 years before that he worked as a web  developer, sysadmin, security consultant and researcher. He is interested in Internet measurement and technology changes like the transition to IPv6. He frequently posts on <a class="external-link" href="https://labs.ripe.net/Members/emileaben">RIPE Labs</a>.<br /><br /> Emile has a MSc. degree in Chemistry from the University of Nijmegen, NL. <br /><br /></p>]]></content:encoded>

<p><b>Ingrid Wijte</b> is the Registration Services Assistant Manager at the RIPE NCC. She is responsible for overseeing the allocation and assignment of IP number resources in the RIPE NCC service region (Europe, the Middle East and parts of Central Asia). <br /><br /> Prior to her current role, Ingrid worked as Policy Development Officer for the organisation. In that position, she supported the RIPE Policy Development Process (PDP) by tracking and analysing policies and proposals, supporting the RIPE NCC's policy implementation, and performing outreach activities to support the RIPE PDP. <br /><br /> Ingrid started working at the RIPE NCC in 2002 as an IP Resource Analyst and Trainer.</p>]]></content:encoded>

He       also oversees all of the RIPE NCC legal activities, including  liaison      with lawyers, Law Enforcement and National Prosecutors.</p>
<p>Together with the RIPE NCC's Senior Management Team, Jochem also       develops organisational strategies to ensure that the RIPE NCC  continues      to meet the membership's needs.</p>
<p>Jochem has worked at the RIPE NCC since 2002. His initial focus was  to      stabilise and enhance the RIPE NCC’s financial position and, as  of 2006,      Jochem has overseen all of the RIPE NCC's legal affairs.  Jochem      previously worked as Price Analyst and Marketing Controller  at TNT Post      International and as Controller at Sony International.</p>]]></content:encoded>
