2003 Announcements
RIR open letter to ICANN regarding the NRO	24 October 2003
On 24 October 2003, the RIRs jointly signed an open letter to ICANN advising of the formation of the Number Resource Organization (NRO). This letter included a copy of the NRO Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), and a proposed MoU for the formation of a new ICANN ASO, as required under the reformed ICANN structure.

The RIPE NCC is pleased to announce the nominations for the Representatives to the ASO Address Council - RIPE NCC Region. The selection takes place at the RIPE 46 Meeting, 1 - 5 September 2003 in Amsterdam, the Netherlands and follows an open Call for Nominations published on 30 May 2003.

This is a call for nominations of individuals from the RIPE region to serve on the ASO Address Council. On 31 December 2003 one RIPE region Address Council seat will become vacant and will be filled for the next three years by an individual nominated through this open call.
RIR Communique to GAC (PDF)	25 March 2003
At the ICANN meeting in Rio de Janeiro on March 24, 2003, the RIRs held a meeting with the Government Advisory Committee (GAC) of ICANN. At that meeting the RIRs delivered a communiqué to the GAC and made a presentation highlighting the communiqué.

This document enumerates the specific reform proposals of the RIRs in the Internet number resource area. A specific, critical and necessary role for ICANN is defined. Of paramount concern to the RIRs are the policy development process and the role of the various entities that participate in that process.
